Open Mic: Hmmm what to use for a word? I always struggle coming up with a word, but today, I was looking outside and then I looked down and say my flip-flops on my feet, so I will attempt the word FLIP-FLOP!!!! Here we go. Won’t you join me on this journey?
Flip-Flop: So, I love wearing flip-flops. I mean they are great. I imagine Jesus when he was here on Earth rocking a $1 pair of Old Navy Sandals. I mean can you see him wearing them? I mean he was revolutionary. He always stuck out. That would definitely help. :) On a more serious note, what are the reasons for Flip-Flops? They protect our feet. We slip them on, and we can go anywhere. We can walk on rocks, grass, pavement, and lava. Well I would not recommend that last part though. Hehe. They are so easy to use. No confusion. We don’t have to worry about bending down and tying them, we just walk up to them and put them on and go. I wear them 95% of the time in the warm weather. Here is the question! Do you wear Jesus and God 95-100% of the time? Did you know that God is just like flip-flops? He is always there to protect us, but not just our feet. He will protect us from all sorts of things. He is not confusing to get that protection. We just slip Him on and go. God is that simple. All it takes is to ask for His protection and you receive it. Have you ever worn flip-flops when one of the straps breaks? That happened to me the other day. Luckily I had another pair here at work. It is not fun to be stranded with one sandal. You only have ½ protection. God differs in that aspect. He will never break on you. The love and protection that God gives you is unbreakable. God protects you in everyday life. Just talk to him and ask him for his loving arms and hands to protect you, and he will be the ultimate pair of flip-flops. Better yet, you can wear God in all seasons of weather. Not just warmer weather. So I wear my flip-flops all the time in the summer, but why not wear God and have his protection year round in the hard and easy times, in the hot and cold times. He is there. Will you let Him protect you?
